Privacy Policy

1. Metadata We Collect

When you submit a YouTube URL, Falvox retrieves the following public metadata through the official YouTube Data API v3:

• Video title and description
• Channel/creator name and channel ID
• Thumbnail image URL
• Publication date and duration
• Embeddable status and license type

This metadata is stored on your course for display and attribution purposes only.

2. Uploaded Content — Temporary Processing

When you paste or upload a transcript, notes, or source document for course generation:

• The text is processed only for the active course-generation request.
• Raw transcripts and notes are NOT permanently stored in our database.
• TXT files are read directly in your browser via FileReader — they are never uploaded to any server.
• PDF and DOCX uploads are temporarily disabled during MVP validation. Support for these formats is planned after the MVP is validated, once secure extraction and reliable deletion and privacy handling are available.
• Raw source text is removed from temporary state after successful generation.

No raw source document is ever uploaded to permanent or private platform storage. All text processing happens in-memory during the active generation request.

3. What We Retain

After course generation, Falvox retains:

• The generated original course (lessons, quizzes, flashcards, notes)
• Video ID and metadata needed for attribution
• Source type (e.g., "user-provided")
• Permission confirmation record
• Relevant timestamps

We do NOT retain: raw transcripts, raw source documents, or file download URLs.

4. What We Do Not Collect

• Raw transcripts are not included in analytics, logs, or error reports.
• Raw source files are not stored in admin dashboards.
• Falvox does not create a transcript library or transcript-download feature.
• Falvox does not automatically access YouTube captions or transcripts.

5. API Key Security

Falvox's YouTube Data API key is stored securely as a backend secret. It is never exposed in frontend code, browser responses, or logs. All YouTube API requests run through a secure backend function.

6. Your Rights

You can delete your courses and associated data at any time from your dashboard. If you have privacy concerns, please email adirsaas@gmail.com.

7. Content Reporting

If you are a creator or rights holder with privacy concerns about content on Falvox, you can submit a report.
